titus-2Do you have a Paul, Barnabas, and Timothy in your life?  Do you live by that principle?

Living by this principle means you have three specific people in your life:

  1. Someone speaking into you
  2. Someone walking along with you
  3. Someone you are investing in

When we live by this principle and have these 3 key individuals in our life, it keeps us authentic and transparent.  It’s a way to always be learning from different angles in life.

Maybe you have someone whom you are learning from.  It could be a mentor or a teacher.  Maybe even a counselor. They share their wisdom and ask questions to help you to grow and challenge yourself.  Is there someone you admire who has served in this role in your life?  Someone who speaks into you?

What about someone walking along with you?  You’re both at the same stage and growing or committed to growing together.  Maybe you’re reading books together, doing a Bible study, meeting regularly, or whatever.  Have you ever walked along with a friend and had the blessing of not only growing yourself, but of seeing the friend grow?

Whom are you investing in?  Have you ever intentionally invested in someone?

In the second chapter of Titus, the Bible talks about older women teaching the younger women.  I think we can apply that not only to age but to spiritual maturity.

  •  Are you looking to those who have come before you to help you learn and grow?
  • Do you have role models to help you in your Christian walk?
  • Are you intentionally seeking to walk with other Christian women to grow and to learn how to be the woman God would have you to be?  To live God’s plan for your life?
  • Are you investing in those who are coming behind you so that you may help them?  Are you passing on the things you have learned from those who came before you and those who are walking along with you?

What a blessing it is to have the encouragement of other Christian women as we walk through life. Whom could you ask to fill each of those roles in your own life?  Has God put any names on your heart as you have thought about it?  Would you be willing to pray, asking Him to give you a Paul, Barnabas, and a Timothy?

Maybe you could even start with just one of those roles?  Which one would that be?

What step do you need to take today?

As a life coach, I walk along side of women and hold them accountable as they seek to be intentional and live God’s plan for their lives.  It’s very powerful to see the growth and transformation that comes from being intentional.  I love that God allows me to be a part of that.  It’s exciting to invest in others and see their progress and growth!  I know from my own experience that it’s also exciting to share my own growth and victories with those who invest in me as the people I look up to myself. God really does have an amazing plan for the way we are to encourage one another, doesn’t He?

I’d love to hear the steps you are taking or even the experiences you already have from the Paul, Barnabas, or Timothy in your life!
